Funding Your Participation

Based on previous experience, we can offer you the following suggestions for finding funding to attend the Congress:

• Contact the British Council office in your country (http://www.britishcouncil.org/home-contact-worldwide.htm ). They may only want to support particular types of travel. In which case you may need to incorporate your attendance at the Congress into a wider study/speaking trip. Contact us if you would like us to put you in contact with other UK botanic gardens.
• Approach national airlines for a free or subsidised flight
• Ask the Friends of your Garden if they would consider running a fundraising event to support your attendance at the Congress.
• Organise a sponsored event or sell cakes
• Contact local or national companies

When applying for funding, it would be worth highlighting the importance of the congress in supporting the implementation of the Global Strategy for Plant Conservation and the Convention on Biological Diversity

The Conference Organisers are investigating funding for participants who cannot afford the full fees. Priority will be given to participants who wish to present and submit an abstract. Please complete the following downloadable form and return it to the address given at the end of the form.
