Funding
Based on previous experience, we can offer you the following suggestions for finding funding to attend the Congress:
- Contact the British Council office in your country. They may only want to support particular types of travel. In which case
you may need to incorporate your attendance at the Congress into a
wider study/speaking trip.
- Approach national airlines for a free or subsidised flight
- Ask the Friends of your Garden if they would consider running a fundraising event to support your attendance at the Congress.
- Organise a sponsored event
- Contact local or national companies
- Apply for grants. Check out the following websites:
 |
When applying for funding, it would be worth
highlighting the importance of the congress in supporting the
implementation of the Millennium Development Goals, the Global Strategy
for Plant Conservation and the Convention on Biological Diversity.
If anyone knows of other ideas, websites or contacts for funding, please let us know and we will add them to the list.

Best wishes,
The Organising Committee
